BIG BLUNDER NO.1 WITH LAW OF ATTRACTION
Today is the first of 6 posts on BIG BLUNDERS OR MYTHS WITH THE LAW OF ATTRACTION – AND HOW TO AVOID THEM. The posts come from first-hand experience in my own life and coaching clients to break-free from where they are stuck or hurting …to attract and live the life they love.
You see, by the time I hit 50, despite being a life-long student of books and workshops on Manifesting, Positive Thinking and the Laws of Attraction, you could say I was a “flat-out failure”.
• Flat broke and homeless after a fire
• Flat broken-hearted and alone after my 25 year marriage ended in divorce
• Flat unemployed – despite a long career in journalism
• Flat frustrated that the Law of Attraction had let me down…or had it?
In turning my own life around from “mess to success” in love and money and with regard to the 4Ps of happiness – Passion, Power, Peace and Purpose – I needed to clear 6 key beliefs that were keeping me stuck from manifesting results with the Law of Attraction. See if any of these resonate with you.
MYTH NO. 1
ANYONE CAN VISUALIZE AND ACTIVATE THE LAW OF ATTRACTION WITH THE POWER OF THEIR CONSCIOUS MIND
This is the single biggest blunder I myself made before I was “en-lightened” about how my UNCONSCIOUS mind was running 95% of my life, unbeknown to me! I was simply attracting vibrationally from beliefs and patterns going back to my childhood and family of origin. These were keeping me stuck and blocked from success and happiness.
I proved the truth of this in thousands of hours working as an intuitive healer for more than eight years using tools like The Journey and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) which I then distilled into the Break-Free Fast Formula™ which I have evolved further thanks to my training as a Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner with Karl Dawson and Sasha Allenby.
Law of Attraction Tip No. 1
When you feel stuck or frustrated in any area of your life know that likely you need to do some cleaning and clearing of the negative beliefs originating in the past (parents, teachers, church, society) that otherwise can end up running – or ruining – you life NOW and crippling your best efforts to manifest your cherished dreams.
I liken it to your ship of life having gone more and more off course until you are stuck on a sandbank. The sandbank is the accumulated debris of your life that you need to excavate with the emotional-energy tools I recommend in my book like EFT tapping plus the single most powerful clearing tools I now use: Matrix Reimprinting.
Thank you! I’m glad someone is putting the truth out there. Too many are making grand promises in order to sell programs with no indication of the process involved in order for most of the population to manifest.
Thanks Gloria – I’d be interested to hear your views on manifesting and the truth about the Law of Attraction – I do appreciate your site being devoted to “stillness”.
Carly,
Yes, your unconscious mind is the LOA power house. It does the real “work” for letting go of your stuff and finding the multiple paths to what you want. Yet, without your conscious mind and thought that you can or might possibly be able to achieve something other than where you are. Without the constant unhappiness or reading of books and you searching for more, would you have ever found EFT etc?
The conscious and unconscious mind work hand it hand.
Happy Days

You are spot on Andrew. Joe Vitale talks about “clearing counter-intentions” which is a neat way of putting it – to clear the glitches in the unconscious …and so better navigate crystal clear intention with the conscious. Thanks for feedback.
Viktor E. Frankl, the psychiatrist and Holocaust Survivor and Author of “Man’s Search for Meaning” writes: “Just a small fire is extinguished by the storm whereas a large fire is enhanced by it- likewise a weak faith is weakened by predicament and catastrophes whereas a strong faith is strengthened by them.” And a great teacher once said “As ye believeth, so be it unto you”.
The power of belief is sufficient to move mountains in your life. Without a strong belief, we do not have a steady rudder to navigate the storm. I would suggest starting with a strong belief in yourSelf! Not so much to the point where one doesn’t trust others, but a healthy belief like “Yes, I can”. This simple belief can work miracles where other methods simply fail or produce modest results at best. Ultimately, we must surrender all beliefs and realize we are nothing but actors on a stage of Life. So, play the part you have been given, and play it well! The meaning of the drama of life won’t be revealed to us until after the play is over, and it will be revealed by the creator of the drama. Until that time, we have only to play our part.
Much Love on the journey!
Thanks George – valuable insights. SELF-BELIEF…let me ask you one question here: where do most of our self-beliefs originate? Mostly (95% according to cellular biologist Bruce Lipton) are set up early in life. Our minds are in a highly suggestible state until the age of 6 years so we learn “Yes I can” or… sadly “No I can’t…not good enough…” from parents, siblings, teachers and society. The good news: we can go back and delete disempowering beliefs and reimprint new empowering ones for our Younger Selves or ECHOs with techniques like Matrix Reimprinting using EFT. That then FREES us to maximize our role as actors on the stage of Life (which you so rightly say) to play at our best – and for me this is living from LOVE.
